Installation prices can vary a lot. Right now, if your job site is bare dirt and ready for installation, meaning they don’t have to bring a rake they don’t have to do any dirt work, they just show up with the grass and lay it, the grass sod installation ranges from about $100 to $115 per pallet. That’s a 450-square-foot pallet. The installation crew shows up, they lay it out there, it’s ready to be watered, and we walk away.
Installation with Prep Work Needed
If there is prep work involved, we will always tell you we need to send someone out to look at it and give you a better idea of what you’re looking at. Because prep work can be anything from minor grading to needing the old grass ripped out with a sod cutter and new soil brought in. Then that needs to be leveled and the grass needs to be laid.
When we get into that situation, we try to give you a range so you know what you’re looking at. That’s normally about $600 to $650 per pallet, and that is us bringing the grass. I guess that’s everything but the delivery. That’s the grass, usually a little bit of dirt and the leveling, taking out old grass, but just to give you an idea like I said, it’s normally about $600 to $650 per 450 square foot area when we’re doing the full meal deal so to speak.
